Bologna secured a crucial 1-0 win against Fiorentina at the Stadio Dall’Ara, halting the Viola’s impressive nine-match winning streak in Serie A. Jens Odgaard’s second-half strike proved decisive, giving former Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano a sweet victory against his old club.

Fiorentina entered the match in high spirits, having won their last eight league games and coming off a midweek victory in the Conference League. However, they faced a resilient Bologna side despite missing several key players due to injuries.

The first half saw both teams create chances, with Fiorentina’s Moise Kean having a goal disallowed for offside. Bologna goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski made crucial saves to keep the score level at halftime.

After the break, Bologna came out strong, with Santiago Castro hitting the post within seconds of the restart. The home side’s persistence paid off when Odgaard found the net following a well-worked team move, giving Bologna a lead they would not relinquish.

Fiorentina pushed for an equalizer, but Bologna’s defence held firm. A late long-range effort from Lewis Ferguson tested David De Gea, but the visitors couldn’t find a breakthrough.
