Lazio’s defensive lineup takes a hit this weekend as Nuno Tavares, the assist leader across Europe’s top five leagues, is sidelined due to a minor muscular injury sustained during international duty with Portugal. In his absence in a key-match against Bologna, Luca Pellegrini is expected to fill the left-back position in Marco Baroni’s starting XI.

The Biancocelesti’s attack may see some changes, with Pedro’s participation hinging on his recovery from a recent illness that kept him out of training earlier this week. If fit, the Spanish winger could join Mattia Zaccagni in the final third, alongside either Boulaye Dia or top scorer Taty Castellanos.

Dia’s availability comes as a relief after a malaria scare last week, from which he has since been cleared. Castellanos, fresh from international duty with Argentina, only rejoined the squad on Thursday, potentially impacting Baroni’s selection decisions.

For Bologna, Riccardo Orsolini poses the primary offensive threat. The captain, who has opened the scoring more than any other player in Serie A this season, aims to extend his goal-scoring streak to five consecutive league appearances. Orsolini is likely to support Santiago Castro in the attack.

The visitors face their own injury concerns, with Nicolo Cambiaghi, Oussama El Azzouzi, and Michel Aebischer unavailable. Dan Ndoye’s participation remains uncertain following a shin injury sustained in Bologna’s victory over Roma.

Lazio: Provedel; Marusic, Gila, Romagnoli, Pellegrini; Vecino, Rovella, Guendouzi; Pedro, Dia, Zaccagni

Bologna: Skorupski; Posch, Beukema, Casale, Miranda; Freuler, Moro; Orsolini, Odgaard, Karlsson; Castro
