The visitors struck first through Mikael Ellertsson, who capitalized on Gaetano Oristanio’s breakaway to fire into the top corner. Monza responded brilliantly, with Georgios Kyriakopoulos curling a precise right-footed shot into the far bottom corner to level the scores.
Venezia regained the lead when Michael Svoboda made amends for his earlier defensive lapse by heading home from Magnus Kofod Andersen’s free-kick. However, Monza’s resilience shone through once again as Milan Djuric latched onto a through ball from Kyriakopoulos to slot home his third goal of the season.
The match took a dramatic turn late on when Monza’s Warren Bondo received a second yellow card for a high boot on Hans Nicolussi Caviglia, reducing the hosts to 10 men. Despite this setback, Alessandro Nesta’s side held firm to secure a valuable point.
