Premier League Giants Ready To Battle Juventus For Wantaway Azzurri Star
Sandro Tonali has been linked with a move away from Newcastle in 2026 and the Italian is being monitored by two European giants.
Juventus will face some stiff competition for Sandro Tonali as the Azzurri midfielder is being monitored by Premier League giants Chelsea.
Chelsea Keen On Sandro Tonali Move
The Blues have added Sandro Tonali to their 2026 shortlist, as Chelsea look to take some major steps under new manager Liam Rosenior.
Enzo Maresca parted ways with Chelsea on New Year’s Day following a reported dispute with the board and the Italian is now being linked with the vacant Manchester United job.
Chelsea’s decision over their managerial position leaves them in a tricky position this January, as the club may be unwilling to hand Rosenior substantial funds during his early stages at Stamford Bridge.
However, one player that is being heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali – as the Italian is reportedly considering a move away from Tyneside.
The Magpies have endured a difficult season in the Premier League and currently sit ninth in the table, which is far below the standards expected.
Tonali has been heavily linked with a move back to Serie A, which has been amplified by Italy’s search for World Cup qualification in 2026.
Despite this, the 25-year-old is still open to a move within the Premier League and Chelsea are willing to match the huge price tag set by Newcastle.
The Magpies are reportedly unwilling to consider any bid below €75million and this fee could be increased further if the Blues make an approach in January.
Currently, Chelsea are willing to wait until the summer before making a move for the Newcastle star and will enter a fierce battle with Serie A side Juventus.
Juventus To Make Summer Bid For Newcastle Ace
The Bianconeri have been strongly linked with the Azzurri midfielder since the recent summer transfer window and Luciano Spalletti is planning a summer move for Tonali.
Spalletti is under contract until June 2026, but the Italian is expected to receive an extended deal in Turin after losing just one of his 13 matches so far.
Juventus are currently battling Parma for Andreas Schjelderup as the January window continues and the Bianconeri see Tonali as a summer investment.
The Italian’s deal in England does not expire until June 2028, but this could become a secondary issue if Tonali makes a stronger push to return to Serie A.
Spalletti will also be aware of the uncertainty surrounding Weston McKennie and Fabior Miretti, with both players targeting moves away from Turin – making Tonali an even bigger priority.
