Christian Vieri Makes Bold Prediction Over Juventus Club World Cup Chances and Believes Inter Milan Criticism Is ‘Unfair’

Start

Serie A icon, Christian Vieri, has given his prediction on how Juventus will do in the Club World Cup and believes the criticism towards Inter Milan is unfair.

Who Does Christian Vieri Think Will Win Club World Cup?

The Italian soccer icon is one of the most influential players to ever step foot in the Serie A, playing for both Milan sides, Juventus, Fiorentina, Atalanta, Lazio, Torino and Pisa.

During his illustrious career in Italy, Vieri made 264 Serie A appearances and contributed to 166 goals (142A & 24A) while also winning the leagues golden boot in 2003.

Vieri won a Serie A title and two Coppa Italia’s along the way, while cementing a place in the Italian national side, scoring 23 goals in 49 appearances for the Azzurri.

His performances on the pitch mean Vieri is well-regarded across the soccer world and the Italian was chosen as a pundit for the 2025 Club World Cup.

Inter and Juventus are the two Italian representatives in the tournament, both being outsiders to win the competition on the best betting apps and Vieri has given his thoughts on their chances to lift the trophy – while also highlighting another former side in Atletico Madrid.

Vieri said: “It’s very important because we’re talking about the biggest teams in the world. And like I said, maybe Lautaro Martinez is not going to play all the games and some young players are going to play.

“So I think it’s good for the clubs to see the young players. These are the biggest teams in the world. They’re always going to go play a tournament to win.

“Like I said, it’s like winning a Champions League in one month instead of one year. Atletico is going to go to win, Juventus, Inter the same.”

What Does Vieri Think About Inter Milan’s 2024/25 Performance?

Even if Inter Milan do lift the Club World Cup trophy, their overall performance in the 2024/25 season may be deemed a failure following a season without silverware.

The Milan-based side were beaten to the Serie A title by one point, as Napoli won the Italian top division for only the second time in the clubs’ history.

Inter were then humiliated by PSG in the Champions League final, suffering the biggest defeat in history and this led to Simone Inzaghi parting ways with the club.

Current Inter star, Nicolo Barella, recently criticised his teams performance in the 2024/25 season, but was quick to praise his new manager, Cristian Chivu.

Now, Vieri has also commented on Inter’s overall display and the Italian took a much more positive view on things – praising Inter for reaching two UCL finals in three years.

Vieri said: “They played two finals in three years. Who does that? Only the big clubs. I think they’re going to recover. They’ve been on vacation for the last week, eight days, nine days, whatever it is.

“They’re going to recover. And that’s how athletes are. You lose the game, OK, no one’s happy, but you’ve got to think about the next game.”
