Como Begin Negotiations Over Alvaro Morata Salary As Spaniard Edges Closer To Permanent Move

Como are entering negotiations with Alvaro Morata over a reduced salary, as the Spaniard closes in on a permanent move.
Como Face Alvaro Morata Salary Problem
Alvaro Morata joined Como on loan from AC Milan for the 2025/26 campaign, after cutting ties with Galatasaray in controversial fashion.
His move to Como included an obligatory buy-option that will become active during the summer and Cesc Fabregas is already looking into the intricacies of Morata’s contract.
Como are currently paying the entirety of Morata’s salary as Milan were forced to pay €5million to terminate the Spaniard’s spell with Galatasaray.
The Spanish international is Como’s highest paid player earning a reported base salary of €8.3m, which is almost €2m more than any of his teammates.
Bringing in Morata permanently will cost Como around €9m and the Serie A side are preparing to offer the Spaniard a new deal before the 2026/27 campaign.
Fabregas’ side currently sit sixth in Serie A and recently progressed to the Coppa Italia quarter-finals with a 3-1 win over Fiorentina on January 27th.
Morata missed Como’s previous eight matches through injury before coming off the bench to score the final goal of the game in Florence.
Nico Paz, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, was also on target and the Argentine’s situation could play a major role in Morata’s future.
Como will need to offer Paz a monstrous salary to keep him at the club this summer and may fund this by lowering Morata’s salary substantially.
Real Madrid will be able to bring the Argentinian in for just €9m in the summer due to their buy-back clause and Fabregas has already shortlisted a host of replacements.
Cesc Fabregas Targets Nico Paz Replacement
Nico Paz has been one of the standout players in Serie A this season, contributing to 14 goals in 22 appearances (8G + 6A) and is heavily linked with a move back to Madrid.
Como are putting plans in place to find a suitable replacement in the summer, as Los Blancos may be unable to refuse a player of Paz’s quality for under €10m.
Fabregas’ side were reportedly targeting Lorenzo Insigne but the Italian veteran has now completed a move to Pescara and Como will divert their attention elsewhere.
The Serie A side have added Mason Mount to their summer shortlist, as the Englishman has failed to make an impact during his time with Manchester United.
Injuries have played a major part in Mount’s career and Michael Carrick is yet to hand the former Chelsea star a start since taking the reins from Ruben Amorim.
Mount still has two-years remaining on his current deal, but Como are confident of landing the Englishman for around €20m during the summer.
