Former Juventus star, David Trezeguet, has ruffled the feathers of Bianconeri supporters after making his Serie A title prediction for 2025/26.

Who Did David Trezeguet Pick In Serie A Title Prediction?

The global soccer superstar is one of the most notable names in the sport’s history, putting in some historic performances for multiple clubs and France.

Most notably, Trezeguet scored the ‘Golden Goal’ to win Euro 2000 against Italy and this was the last time a major European final was won by a ‘Golden Goal’.

During his career, the Frenchman became a club legend with Juventus, contributing to 209 goals in 320 appearances (171G + 38A) and won two Serie A titles, two Supercoppa Italianas and Serie B title.

The latter is what truly won supporters over, as Trezeguet stayed in Turin after the club was relegated to Serie B due to the infamous Calciopoli scandal.

Alongside a stellar club career, winning the Golden Boot in 2001-02, Trezeguet was a vital player for the French national team, picking up the aforementioned European Championship in 2000 and World Cup in 1998.

Overall, the prolific striker scored 34 goals in 71 appearances for Les Bleu and made his final appearance for France in March 2008 in a 1-0 victory over England.

As we have previously mentioned, Trezeguet is highly-respected by Juventus supporters for his service and commitment, however, his 2025/26 Serie A title prediction has not gone down well with Bianconeri fans.

Another Serie A icon in Arrigo Sacchi has made a prediction for this season, but Trezeguet’s pick for the Scudetto winners has ruffled more feathers – picking Napoli and Inter to win the league while giving his opinions on Juventus.

Trezeguet said: “I think everyone knows that both Napoli and Inter have proven over the last few years that they’re the teams to beat,” he said.

“For Juventus, though, it will be a test. They’ve started well, with two wins from as many matches. But they’ll have to keep confirming that through the season.

“We’ll have to wait and see how things play out down the line. But I think they’ll have a chance to have their say in the title race. The reality of the situation is that sooner or later, Juventus must improve and get back to winning ways.”

When Did Juventus Last Win Serie A?

Like Trezeguet mentioned, it’s only a matter of time before Juventus re-enter the title picture, as the 36-time champions have fallen behind the likes of Inter and Napoli in recent years.

Igor Tudor has been handed the task of reclaiming the Italian throne this season and the Croatian has made a strong start by winning the opening two league matches.

Alongside league performances, the Bianconeri will be looking to Europe and arguably have the hardest Champions League fixtures out of all the Serie A sides.

The Old Lady will face Borussia Dortmund, Benfica, Sporting Lisbon, Pafos, Real Madrid, Villarreal, Bodo/Glimt and Monaco, but fans will be focusing on the Serie A primarily.

Juventus’ last Scudetto triumph came in the 2019/20 season, meaning the club are currently in a five-year drought after winning the league for nine consecutive seasons between 2011-2020.

Since the 2019/20 season, Inter and Napoli have asserted their dominance in Italy by winning two league titles each, while AC Milan picked up the trophy in 2021/22.
