Former Serie A Striker Questions Inter’s Individual Stars and Excludes Juventus In Scudetto Prediction

Former Serie A striker, Stevan Jovetic, has questioned Inter’s individual stars and believes Juventus will not be in the Serie A title race.

Who Has Stevan Jovetic Picked To Win Serie A Title?

The Montenegrin striker is synonymous with Serie A after making 147 appearances in Italy’s top-flight, donning the jersey of Fiorentina and Inter Milan.

In these 147 appearances, Jovetic contributed to 64 goals (41G + 23A) and is now playing in Cyprus for Omonia Nicosia, while still representing Montenegro at 35-years of age.

Jovetic left Serie A in August 2017, but is still an avid supporter of Italian soccer and the veteran recently gave a prediction for the upcoming encounter between Inter and Juventus.

The 35-year-old said: “They have strong players, and now my friend Kolarov is there too. It will be a great match against Juventus. I give the edge to Inter, obviously. For me, Italian football is growing again, with great champions.”

Sebastian Veron has also made a prediction for Juventus vs Inter, as the Nerazzurri look to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat by Udinese last time out.

Cristian Chivu’s side were not at the races against Udinese, but Jovetic believes Inter will be in the Serie A title race despite an an issue of having a squad with ‘individual stars’ instead of a complete team.

“I always follow the league with enthusiasm. Inter has always been a very important team. Back in my time with Mancini, we were a team rather than individual stars.

“You have to look at the positives. It’s a new season, a new coach, everything is new. For me, the Scudetto race is between Inter and Napoli.”

Interestingly, the former Manchester City striker excluded Juventus from his Serie A title prediction, despite Igor Tudor’s side making a flawless start to the season.

Will Juventus Win Scudetto In 2025/26?

The Bianconeri entered the 2025/26 season with a new lease of life, as Igor Tudor was appointed on a permanent basis after guiding Juve to fourth-place as an interim coach in 2024/25.

Juventus strengthened their roster heavily in the summer, bringing in multiple players on permanent deals following successful loan spells and adding Jonathan David, Joao Mario and Lois Openda.

Tudor also kept a hold of Dusan Vlahovic, who has scored in both of Juve’s Serie A matches so far and the Serbian is now close to signing a new deal in Turin despite heavy rumors of a move elsewhere during the summer transfer window.

Winning the Serie A will be Juventus’ primary objective this season, as the Bianconeri have not won Italy’s biggest prize since 2019/20, with Inter Milan and Napoli battling for the throne in recent years.

Juve held the Scudetto for nine consecutive seasons between 2012-2020, but financial troubles and consistent changes with managers have seen a huge drop-off in Turin.

Ending the wait for a 37th Serie A title will not be an easy task this season, with Napoli and Inter being favorites to battle it out for the Scudetto – however Igor Tudor appears to have built a squad that is capable of battling this year.
