Alvaro Morata has expressed his dissatisfaction with his current situation at Atletico Madrid and in Spain, hinting at a possible move abroad. The Spanish striker, who has been on the radar of several Italian clubs in the past, shared his grievances in an interview with Marca, as reported by Calciomercato:
“The simplest thing for me would be to leave the country considering what I experience when I go out. It’d be a lot easier if I went abroad. My kids don’t understand why some people are so angry at me. I could have left last summer. I had better offers from great teams financially speaking. However, I had the illusion of being able to win with Atletico Madrid. The way people react to our games and victories weighs a lot.”
Morata also voiced his displeasure with Atletico Madrid being linked to other strikers.
“It’s up to the club to comment on what’s being written in the papers. If I see that they are considering eight strikers, it means that I’m not a priority. I’m almost 32 and can’t stay put not to play.”
Despite his frustrations, Morata maintains a good relationship with Atletico’s coach, Diego Simeone.
“I’ve talked a lot with Diego Simeone. Each summer, it seems like I don’t fit his schemes, but that’s not the case. I have no problem with him. We often chat about life, and he helped me a lot. However, there are some things beyond my control. I don’t know whether I’m in his or the team’s plans. We’ll address that when we get back to work.”
Todays edition of Tuttosport report that Morata is open to a return to Juventus, and would be willing to reduce his salary in order to join the Bianconeri for the third time.
