Alejandro Garnacho Fuels Manchester United Exit Rumors With Confusing Social Media Post As Napoli Remain Interested

Napoli are reportedly stepping up their interest in Alejandro Garnacho after the Argentinian fueled rumors with a recent social media post.

Why Is Alejandro Garnacho Leaving Manchester United?

The Argentine has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford for the entirety of this summer transfer window after a reported fall-out with Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim.

Talks over a summer exit caught fire after United were beaten 1-0 by Tottenham in the Europa League final and Garnacho questioned Amorim’s decision to leave him out of the starting eleven.

Garnacho said: “Up until the final I played every round helping the team, and today I play 20 minutes, I don’t know. The final will influence my decision but the whole season, the situation of the club. I’m going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens afterwards.”

Since then, the 21-year-old has been heavily linked with two clubs, as Chelsea and Napoli have both been in talks with the Red Devils over a move for the Argentinian international.

Enzo Maresca’s side are favorites to sign Garnacho on offshore sportsbooks and the Manchester United star recently liked a post that pushed for a move to Stamford Bridge.

Garnacho’s place in the starting eleven would not be cemented as the Blues have already signed a host of star names in the attacking area, bringing in Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Estevao.

However, Noni Madueke, Joao Felix and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have all move on this summer, while Nicolas Jackson has been heavily linked with a move away.

The Argentinian’s deal in Manchester is set to expire in June 2028 and the Red Devils have reportedly set their asking price at around $45 million – tempting the likes of Napoli.

These rumors over a move away were recently boosted as Garnacho posted an image of himself playing for Manchester United on his Instagram story and fans have questioned the intentions behind this.

Are Napoli Interested In Alejandro Garnacho?

The Serie A champions have been huge admirers of Garnacho for multiple months now and saw a $50m bid be rejected during the January transfer window.

However, with United signing Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, while also edging closer to a deal for Benjamin Sesko, the need to sell has increased drastically.

This means that the Red Devils may be willing to accept a lower fee for the likes of Garnacho, Antony and Jadon Sancho, which could play directly into Napoli’s hands.

Antonio Conte found great success from signing an out-of-favor Manchester United star last summer, as Scott McTominay won the leagues player of the season and the Scotsman has now been nominated for the Ballon d’Or.

Garnacho’s attitude and various social media posts has been questioned but making 144 appearances for the Red Devils at just 21-years of age highlights his ability.

The Italian side have already signed some huge names this summer, with the biggest additions being Kevin De Bruyne and Noa Lang, which makes the need for Garnacho far less than it was at the start of this window.
