Christian Pulisic has turned down the opportunity to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, reportedly rejecting Al Nassr to stay in Milan.
Is Christian Pulisic Leaving AC Milan?
The USMNT star has enjoyed his best moments in Europe with the Rossoneri after signing from Chelsea in July 2023, making 100 appearances for Milan and contributing to 55 goals (32G + 23A).
Increasing his overall level of performance was vital for Pulisic following his underwhelming spell in the Premier League and the American is now regarded as one of the best attacking options in Italy.
However, despite his impressive run of form in Milan, contributing to 29 goals in 50 appearances during the 2024/25 season, talks over a move away from the San Siro have been prominent this summer.
Pulisic’s deal in Milan is set to expire in June 2027 and talks over a new deal appeared to be going well following the end of last season – however these talks have slowed down in recent weeks.
Massimiliano Allegri’s appointment may have increased Pulisic’s desire to stay in Italy, as the former Juventus manager is renowned for getting the best out of forward players.
The Rossoneri finished eighth in the league last season, however, they are showing signs of intent during this window, signing Luka Modric and Milan are also interested in Bayer Leverkusen star, Victor Boniface.
Making these acquisitions may give Pulisic some confidence in an improved campaign next season and the USMNT player may put pen to paper on a two-year extension.
This has been supported in recent days, as the 26-year-old reportedly turned down the opportunity to play with Portuguese icon, Cristiano Ronaldo, by rejecting a move to Al Nassr.
Did Christian Pulisic Reject Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr?
Pulisic’s reported discomfort in Milan has attracted interest from multiple clubs across the globe, with a return to the Premier League being rumored.
But, the most substantial link has come from Saudi Arabia and involved the American ending his time in Europe to compete in the Saudi Pro League.
Multiple players have made the switch to the Middle East, with the likes of Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Sadio Mane and N’Golo Kante all committing their futures to various SPL sides.
The main selling point for playing in Saudi Arabia is undoubtedly the large salaries on offer, with multiple players earning over $1 million per week.
However, this is something that did not appeal to the former Chelsea star, as Pulisic is reportedly keen on staying in Milan and prefers this over the chance to play with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Pulisic staying in Milan would be a huge boost for the Italian side, especially as the Rossoneri are huge outsiders to win the league title on Serie A betting sites.
Milan will not compete in Europe next season after their disappointing campaign in both the league and Europa League, failing to qualify for any of UEFA’s competitions.
The Rossoneri have only failed to earn a spot in Europe twice in the last 10-years and Allegri will be looking to turn things around – something Pulisic will likely be involved in.
