A host of Serie A sides are keeping tabs on Arsenal star, Gabriel Martinelli, as Mikel Arteta is reportedly losing faith in the Brazilian international.

Will Gabriel Martinelli Leave Arsenal?

The Brazilian’s place in the Arsenal side has taken a major hit in recent weeks, as the Gunners signed Noni Madueke fromm Chelsea and more recently, Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace for around $70 million.

Fans are expecting the England international to take Martinell’s spot, with the alternative option being a swap for club captain, Martin Odegaard – which seems unlikely.

Martinelli’s form has dipped in recent times, after cementing his place in the squad by scoring 15 Premier League goals in 36 appearances back in 2022/23.

Across the last two campaigns, the 24-year-old has scored just 14 goals in 68 league appearances and began to lose his place to Leandro Trossard after the Belgian’s impressive performances.

Mikel Arteta opted to drop Martinelli from the starting eleven for Arsenal’s second Premier League encounter, preferring Noni Madueke on the left-hand side.

The Gunners picked up a 5-0 win at the Emirates and the Brazilian had to watch from the sidelines, not getting a single minute of action against the newly-promoted side.

His future has now been left up in the air, with Eberechi Eze’s addition playing a part and also, Arsenal are reportedly preparing a move for Ademola Lookman after his fall-out with Atalanta.

The Nigerian international looked to be on his way to Inter Milan after a public transfer request, but the Nerazzurri halted their interest after Atalanta rejected a $55m bid.

Now, the 24-year-old has attracted interest from a host of clubs around Europe and according to reports, multiple Serie A sides are monitoring Martinelli’s situation in north London.

Could Gabriel Martinelli Move To Serie A?

Before the 2024/25 campaign, Martinelli was viewed as one of the brightest prospects in Europe and was one of the first name’s on Arsenal’s teamsheet.

This was echoed by the Gunners in January 2023, as the Brazilian winger signed a four-year deal (with an option to extend by a year) and he is now under contract until June 2027.

However, his recent struggles in the infamous red strip mean that Mikel Arteta’s side are willing to consider appropriate offers and Atalanta are said to be keen on a swap deal for Lookman.

Ivan Juric was dealt two big blows before his reign as Atalanta manager began, losing last season’s Serie A golden boot winner, Mateo Retegui and having to deal with Lookman’s controversy.

The Bergamo-based side could use Lookman’s links to Arsenal in their favor, as there may be a chance to offer the Nigerian in a swap deal for Martinelli before the end of this window.

Atalanta are not the only Serie A side that are interested in the Arsenal forward, with AC Milan, Napoli and Roma all keeping tabs on Martinelli – however no contact has been made so far.
