Genoa are set to sign Bayern Munich goalkeeper, Daniel Peretz, after talks between the two sides over a loan deal have entered ‘advanced stages’.
Who Is Daniel Peretz?
The Israeli shot-stopper has caught the headlines in recent days as he nears a move to Italy’s top division and looks to boost Genoa’s chances of a European qualification.
In August 2023, Peretz secured a $7 million move to Bayern Munich after impressing with his boyhood club, Maccabi Tel Aviv, making 102 appearances for the Ligat ha’Al side.
During his time in Tel Aviv, the highly rated shot-stopper won the Israel State Cup, Israel Toto Cup and Israel Super Cup, before heading over to Germany.
However, since making the switch to Bayern Munich, Peretz has struggled to cement a place in the first-team and has made just seven appearances for the Bavarian side.
Last season, the 24-year-old made just three appearances in the Bundesliga which came in a trio of consecutive starts before returning to the sidelines.
The young shot-stopper struggled with multiple injuries during the season, primarily involving his kidneys which kept him out of selection for 12 league matches.
Now, with Bayern Munich one of the favorites to win the Bundesliga on the best betting apps after their title victory last season, Peretz is set to join Genoa on loan.
Fabrizio Romano recently revealed that there will also be a buy-option included and Peretz will head over to Italy to complete a medical in the coming days.

Will Genoa Star Leave After Bayern Player Joins?
Genoa’s new addition is not great news for the clubs’ current goalkeeper, Nicola Leali, who made 29 Serie A appearances last season after Pierluigi Gollini left to join Roma in January.
Leali would have been hoping to keep his spot in the starting eleven after keeping six clean sheets in Italy’s top-flight, but Peretz’s addition means the Italian could return to the sidelines.
Patrick Vieira guided his side to 13th last season after taking the reins in November and will be looking to bolster his side for the upcoming season, in hopes of qualifying for Europe.
Vieira was recently slammed by former Genoa player, Mario Balotelli, with the controversial striker labeling the Frenchman an attention seeker.
Despite this, Vieira will return for the 2025/26 season and is clearly looking to strengthen in the goalkeeper department, despite Genoa conceding just 49 goals in the Serie A last campaign – less than the likes of Como.
Genoa’s main ambition this summer will be to keep a hold of star defender, Koni De Winter, after Manchester United and Tottenham showed interest in the 23-year-old.
