Mohamed Amoura has caught the eye of multiple sides across Europe and the Algeria international could be heading to Serie A next summer.

Would Wolfsburg Sell Mohamed Amoura In 2026?

The Algerian forward has become a household name across Europe during his spell in Germany, after contributing to 19 goals in 31 appearances last season (10G + 9A).

This tally was one of the highest in Germany’s top division and capped off a superb debut season for Wolfsburg, after joining  the Bundesliga side on loan from Union Saint-Gilloise in July 2024.

Amoura completed a permanent move during the most recent summer transfer window and has featured in every Bundesliga fixture so far – contributing to three goals (2G + 1A).

However, Wolfsburg have endured a difficult few weeks in the Bundesliga, losing their last four matches and picking up just one win.

Daniel Bauer’s side currently sit 15th in the table and are one-point above the relegation zone, making Amoura’s future in Germany rather uncertain ahead of a World Cup year.

Algeria have already booked a place in next year’s tournament, unlike Italy who are set to compete in a World Cup play-off to compete in their first WC since 2014.

Amoura has been one of the standout players for Algeria in recent times, contributing to 23 goals in 37 appearances for his nation (18G + 5A) and being the star in Algeria’s run to the World Cup.

The 25-year-old was involved in 14 goals during Algeria’s 10 World Cup qualification matches (10G + 4A) and is expected to play a vital part in the African nations campaign in the United States.

If Wolfsburg were to be relegated from the Bundesliga and Amoura enjoys a strong run in the World Cup, the Algerian could push for a move back into Europe’s elite leagues.

One selling factor could be the chance to play in the UEFA Champions League as Amoura has never played in Europe’s top competition – only featuring in the Europa League and Conference League.

Many sides in Germany would be keen on signing the Algerian next summer, however, the 25-year-old may also consider a switch to Serie A.

Which Serie A Teams Should Sign Mohamed Amoura?

With European qualification being a key selling-point to lure Amoura away from Germany, there are only a few Serie A sides that can entertain an offer.

One side that has consistently qualified for the Champions League is Atalanta and Ivan Juric will be looking to maintain La Dea’s place in Europe during his debut season in Bergamo.

Making a move for Amoura could become an inevitability for Atalanta next summer, as Ademola Lookman’s future in Bergamo is still unclear.

The Nigerian international has failed to live up to expectations after returning from his unauthorized absence and is yet to score in Serie this season.

A move away in January is still possible as Ademola Lookman’s qualities are still heavily admired by several European sides, but Atalanta are considering a possible contract extension for the former Everton player.

La Dea currently sit eighth in Serie A after picking-up 11 points from seven league matches, while also earning four points from three Champions League ties.

If Atalanta do not make a move for them Algerian then Roma could throw themselves into the mix, as the Giallorossi have enjoyed a strong start under Gian Piero Gasperini.

Roma take up the final Champions League spot after accumulating 15 points from seven league matches – but recently lost their second consecutive match in Europe with a narrow defeat to Slavia Prague.

Artem Dovbyk and Evan Ferguson have failed to provide the goals for Roma this season, meaning an extra option in attack could be tempting for Gasperini.

Amoura still has four-years remaining on his deal in Germany, meaning any interested party will need to make a bid around €35-40 million
