Tottenham Hotspur Star Targeted By Serie A Sides As Thomas Frank Looks To Rejuvenate Front-Line

Start

Tottenham star, Son Heung-min, could be on his way to Serie A as Thomas Frank is reportedly willing to offload the 33-year-old this summer.

Will Son Heung-min Leave Tottenham?

The South Korean international has been one of Tottenham’s leading men in recent years, even taking the captain’s armband following Harry Kane’s move to Bayern Munich in 2023.

Since signing for the Lilywhites in August 2015, the 33-year-old has made 454 appearances and contributed to 274 goals (173G + 101A) – winning his first trophy with the club last season.

Tottenham ended a 17-year wait for silverware after beating Manchester United in the Europa League final and Son was the man to lift the trophy in one of the most historic days in club history.

However, the overall performance from Son during the 2024/25 campaign was not up to his usual standard, as the veteran scored just 11 goals in 46 appearances across all competitions.

In recent years, the South Korean superstar has been one of the favorites to win the Premier League golden boot on offshore betting sites, but Son is now a huge outsiders.

As he approaches 34-years of age, supporters are starting to question whether Son Heung-min can continue to perform at the required level or if it is time for the winger to move on.

Son’s deal with the Premier League side is set to expire in June 2026, meaning he would be available as a free agent next summer and Spurs could miss out on a hefty transfer fee.

During this summer transfer window, the 33-year-old has been linked with a move away from north London, attracting interest from America, Saudi Arabia and Serie A.

Could Son Heung-min Move To Serie A?

With just one-year remaining on his current deal in England, and no signs of a renewed contract, Son Heung-min could move on to a new challenge ahead of next season.

One possibility that has recently caught the headlines is a switch to Italy and joining Bergamo-based side, Atalanta, as Ivan Juric looks for an Ademola Lookman replacement.

The Nigerian international has been linked with a move to Inter Milan this summer, with the Nerazzurri seeing two bids be rejected by La Dea already.

According to reports, Ivan Juric has already identified multiple targets if Lookman leaves this summer, with Atalanta inquiring about Jonathan Rowe from Marseille.

Lookman has been a huge success since revitalizing his career in Italy, contributing to 77 goals in 118 appearances and scoring a hat-trick to win the Europa League in 2024.
