Skriniar’s departure from Paris Saint-Germain, where he arrived on a free transfer from Inter Milan in the summer of 2023, now seems imminent. Turkish sources indicate that Galatasaray is in negotiations with the Parisian club, with the possibility of a six-month loan deal that includes an option to buy at the end of the season.
Okan Buruk’s team is close to welcoming the former Sampdoria defender, who has found himself on the fringes of Luis Enrique’s squad this season. Skriniar has only played 381 minutes across five appearances in Ligue 1, struggling with both fitness issues and subpar performances. The move to Galatasaray could offer him the continuity he seeks, with the opportunity to secure a starting position in both the Turkish Super Lig and the Europa League, where Galatasaray is vying for direct access to the round of 16.
This development appears to put an end to speculation about Skriniar’s potential return to Italy. Juventus had shown interest but had always preferred other targets such as Hancko, Antonio Silva, and the possibility of Tomori from AC Milan. Napoli had also considered Skriniar as an option, but only if PSG were willing to contribute to his substantial salary, which includes significant bonuses.
