Sky Sport Italia confirm that Genoa are on the verge of completing a deal to sign Italian striker Mario Balotelli. The club has decided to accelerate negotiations and finalize the agreement, with the parties expected to close the deal this evening.
Alberto Gilardino, Genoa’s manager, will soon have a new attacking option at his disposal. For Balotelli, this move represents another return to Serie A. While the final details are set to be ironed out tonight, the Italian forward is already scheduled to undergo his medical examinations on Monday.
The former Inter Milan and AC Milan striker is poised to sign a contract that will keep him at Genoa until June 30, 2025. His salary is expected to range between 400,000 and 500,000 euros gross, with additional bonuses linked to appearances and performance.
Interestingly, the contract will also include a release clause that can be activated under specific conditions and circumstances. This provision adds an element of flexibility to the agreement for both the club and the player.
Balotelli’s arrival at Genoa marks another chapter in his storied career, as he looks to make an impact in Italy’s top flight once again.
