Italy’s national team coach Luciano Spalletti expressed contentment with his team’s 4-1 victory over Israel in their recent Nations League match, while acknowledging that there was room for improvement in their finishing.

Speaking after the game, Spalletti noted that the team created numerous significant opportunities but failed to capitalize on all of them. He praised the offensive unit for fulfilling their duties and highlighted the team’s cohesive performance, including the impact of substitutes.

“At times, we didn’t convert the chances we created in a spectacular manner,” Spalletti remarked. “It wasn’t easy to find spaces to get in front of the goalkeeper, but we managed to create important situations.”

The coach emphasized the team’s overall performance, stating that they played as a unit throughout the match. He also commended those who came off the bench, noting their positive contributions to the game.

While recognizing that Italy could have scored more goals, Spalletti maintained a positive outlook on the result. He acknowledged that errors can happen and praised the team’s preventive play, which limited their opponents’ opportunities.

Addressing the goal conceded, Spalletti reminded that opponents also play a role in the game. “It’s not always possible to win matches 10-0,” he said, putting the scoreline into perspective.

Looking ahead, the Italian coach mentioned the challenging fixtures awaiting the team. “We have two very tough matches coming up, and we still need to get results,” he concluded, indicating that the team’s focus is already shifting to their upcoming challenges in the Nations League.
