Lecce midfielder Morten Hjulmand is very close to completing a move to Portuguese side Sporting CP with just the final details pending. The move has advanced quickly and could be complete within the next week, despite the 24-year-old having various suitors in Italy.
Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and Fabrizio Romano report that the two clubs have already agreed a €20 million fee, plus bonuses, and all parties have agreed to the move.
Hjulmand is now in the process of working out personal terms with the Portuguese side, despite having rejected their opening offer of €1.7m per season salary.
The Danish international, Hjulmand joined Lecce from Austrian side Admira Wacker in January 2021 for just €170,000, going on to inherit the captains armband, helping lead the Salentini back to Serie A.
