According to Fabrizio Romano, Stefano Pioli has emerged as one of the three main candidates to become the new manager of Al Ittihad. The Saudi Arabian club is currently in discussions with potential candidates to fill the vacant managerial position.
Pioli’s name has been included in the shortlist of candidates after his recent departure from Milan this summer. The Italian tactician left the Rossoneri following the conclusion of the 2022/23 season, having guided the club to the Serie A title in the 2021-22 campaign.
The managerial change at Al Ittihad comes as Marcelo Gallardo, the current Argentine manager, is set to leave the club.
While Pioli is one of the leading candidates, Al Ittihad is also considering two other options as they evaluate the best fit for their managerial position. The identities of the other candidates have not been disclosed, but the club is expected to make a decision in the coming weeks.
