Lazio Forward Taty Castellanos Emerges As January Target For English Premier League Trio
The Argentine international scored 14 times in all competitions in 2024-25.

Taty Castellanos has been identified by three English Premier League sides ahead of the January transfer window.
According to recent publications, the Lazio forward is being pursued by Brentford, Leeds and West Ham. That despite the 27-year-old reportedly giving the green light to join Flamengo.
The Biancocelesti are somewhat reluctant in letting their star man leave. However, their recent transfer ban and financial issues means balancing the books has to be prioritized.

After Maurizio Sarri underwent heart surgery on Monday, the Lazio head coach will have to determine the future of Taty Castellanos as soon as possible.
Sarri’s minor procedure won’t see him away from the training pitch for too long. Raising funds with the potential sale of Castellanos will give him much-needed cash to revamp his squad.
It’s understood that Leeds are the front-runners to win the race for the 27-year-old’s signature. However, Daniel Farke’s side aren’t happy with the Biancocelesti’s €30million valuation.
Farke wants to pay closer to €20m which the Italians are unlikely to accept. Especially as Castellanos finished 2024-25 as the club’s top scorer with 14 strikes.
Brentford and West Ham are also set to haggle with the Serie A side. Flamengo believe they have a fair chance of luring the South American to Brazil but Castellanos may have second thoughts about quitting Europe.
What Other Players Could Lazio Sell In January?
Sunderland target Matteo Guendouzi is a strong candidate to be sold. The France international has had a solid season so far and he’ll attract plenty of interest across Europe.
Elsewhere, goalkeeper Christos Mandas is also a contender to be moved on. The Greek shot-stopper could fetch around €20m which would certainly help Lazio’s financial cause.
Stalwart defender Adam Marusic is very much on AC Milan’s radar. His contract expires in the summer so acquiring any kind of fee next month will prove pivotal.
With Taty Castellanos and the trio of players the most likely to quit the Stadio Olimpico, a number of players have been linked with a mid-season move to the capital.
England midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Atalanta’s Lazar Samardzic and Giacomo Raspadori are just three targets who could be signed in January.
No matter what happens with Castellanos, it’s fair to assume that Maurizio Sarri will probably be one of the busiest head coaches in world soccer next month overseeing a number of transfers.
