Juventus manager Thiago Motta spoke to DAZN before his team’s match against Empoli, their first game after the international break. Motta provided insight into his lineup choices and tactical approach for the upcoming fixture.
When asked about what kind of Juventus performance to expect, Motta emphasized the importance of minimizing errors: “Today we want to make few mistakes because Empoli transitions very quickly and puts pressure on the defensive phase.”
Regarding his decision to start Mattia Perin in goal, Motta explained: “Perin also deserves to play for the work he’s been doing. In these weeks, all three of our goalkeepers have done well.”
The manager also justified his choice to include Nico Gonzalez in the starting lineup: “Merit also depends on the moment. It depends on what one can give against a specific opponent. He can give us a lot – he’s a player who can take on defenders one-on-one on the right wing and can be dangerous in the air. I’m convinced he will have an excellent game.”
