Although a new Vincenzo Italiano contract is on the table, Milan and Roma are pursuing the Bologna head coach.
Italiano is still relishing in glory after leading the Rossoblu to the Coppa Italia title on May 14. Dan Ndoye scored the only goal of the game against the Rossoneri at the Stadio Olimpico.
That victory has ensured that the Dall’Ara will host Europa League soccer in the 2025-26 campaign. Which is perhaps just as well with Italiano’s side going down 3-2 at Fiorentina on GW37.
The narrow defeat means the Veltri are unlikely to finish in the top six this season. However, Italiano’s stock has risen dramatically in Italy after delivering Bologna’s first major trophy in 51 years.
Vincenzo Italiano Contract At Bologna
Last week, it was reported that Vincenzo Italiano was set to be offered a new deal after leading Bologna to Coppa Italia glory against Milan.
Italiano’s agent will sit down with the Rossoblu directors on Wednesday to negotiate the terms of a new and improved contract. The 47-year-old penned terms last summer until 2026.
Now, the club wants to tie Italiano down until 2028 with aspirations of qualifying for the Champions League once again in the coming seasons.
CEO Claudio Fenucci said last week that Bologna and Italiano will ‘continue together’ after securing the Italian Cup. Now, it appears a wrench has been thrown in the works.

Will Vincenzo Italiano Join Milan Or Roma?
It is no secret that Milan are looking to replace head coach Sergio Conceicao. The Portuguese boss has overseen a difficult campaign at the San Siro.
Despite winning the Supercoppa Italiana in January, the Rossoneri have failed to live up to expectations. Their Serie A form has been woeful and the club will not be playing in European competition next season.
Even the legendary Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s role at Milan is under the spotlight this summer. That in itself will make it tough for the Diavoli to persuade Vincenzo Italiano to join the club.
Roma are a much more appealing career path at the moment but the general feeling around the Dall’Ara is that Italiano will sign a contract extension.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the 47-year-old expects a substantial pay rise and assurances any outgoing stars will be adequately replaced.
