Atalanta Monitor Situation Of Unsettled West Ham Star As Graham Potter Begins To Lose Hammers Dressing Room

Atalanta are reportedly monitoring the situation of West Ham star, Lucas Paqueta, as the Brazilian is looking for a way-out of east London.

Will Lucas Paqueta Leave West Ham?

The Hammers have made a miserable start to their 2025/26 season, conceding eight goals in the opening two Premier League games, losing 3-0 to Sunderland and 5-1 to Chelsea.

Most recently, Graham Potter’s side were eliminated from the EFL Cup after a 3-2 defeat to Wolves and Jarrod Bowen was seen arguing with the away fans.

Supporters are already pushing for Potter’s dismissal and the summer transfer window has failed to inspire, only bringing in Mads Hermansen, Callum Wilson, El Hadj Malick Diouf and Kyle Walker-Peters.

Now, this window is set to go from bad to worse as Lucas Paqueta is reportedly pushing for a move away from east London and the Brazilian has already attracted interest from a host of sides around Europe.

The former Lyon star was recently cleared from any punishment for alleged betting breaches, with many thinking the investigation would bring Paqueta’s career to an end.

Losing their midfield star would be a huge loss for the Hammers, as Paqueta has made 123 appearances since signing in August 2022 and played a pivotal role in the clubs historic Europa Conference League victory in 2023.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Brazilian after missing out on Eberechi Eze, however, Spurs are also considering a move for Juventus star, Kenan Yildiz.

Despite this, Spurs’ interest has reportedly unsettled Paqueta and the 28-year-old is now considering his options before the transfer deadline on August 31st.

Atalanta are now the latest club to divert their attention to the Brazilian and Ivan Juric may be keen to bring another attacking spark following Mateo Retegui’s departure this summer.

Are Atalanta Interested In Lucas Paqueta?

Atalanta have endured their most difficult summer in recent years, as Gian Piero Gasperini left the club after nine-years in charge and top goalscorer, Retegui, moved to Saudi Arabia.

Furthermore, Ademola Lookman’s situation in Bergamo has been one of the biggest transfer sagas during this summer window and the Nigerian looks set to leave in the coming days.

The former RB Leipzig star looked set to join Inter Milan after making a public transfer request, however, Atalanta rejected the Nerazzurri’s initial bid and Cristian Chivu decided to end the pursuit.

Now, Ademola Lookman has been linked with a move to Arsenal and his exit would push the club into signing a replacement before the end of the window.

Although Paqueta is a different profile to Lookman, the Brazilian possesses the same quality of making things happen in front of goal and would be a shrewd addition for La Dea.

The Brazilian international has two-years remaining on his current deal with West Ham and would cost the Serie A side over $35 million with only a few days of the window remaining – however no talks have began between both parties.
