Italian Midfielder Considers MLS Future After Inter Miami Secure First League Title

Inter Miami midfielder Yannick Bright is considering his future in the United States as the Italian helped to secure a first MLS Cup in franchise history.

The MLS season came to a close on December 6th as Inter Miami secured a 3-1 victory over Vancouver Whitecaps and Lionel Messi lifted the trophy for the first time since David Beckham founded the club in 2018.
Yannick Bright made a 12-minute cameo on the final day of the campaign and the Italian ended the season with 43 appearances across all competitions.
However, the 24-year-old did not start in any of the MLS Playoff encounters and has dropped down the pecking order under Javier Mascherano.
Lifting the MLS Cup has elevated Bright’s status among the world of soccer and the Italian is now considering his future going in to 2026.
Bright began his career outside of MLS, making 20 appearances for Serie D side Arconatese, before heading to the United States in 2020 to play college soccer at the University of New Hampshire.
After an impressive spell with the New Hampshire Wildcats, Bright was selected by Inter Miami at the 2024 MLS SuperDraft – ranking as the 15th overall pick.
The Italian has made 72 appearances for Inter Miami and has been compared to Atalanta midfielder Ederson who has recently caught the eye of Europe’s elite.
Similarly to the Brazilian, Bright is now pursuing a move away from his parent club after reaching the pinnacle in the United States with hopes of making a rise on the international scene.

Yannick Bright Split Over Nationality
The Inter Miami midfielder has not represented Italy at any level despite a strong run of performances at Inter Miami and Bright is now considering his international career.
Bright was born to an Ivorian father and Italian mother, meaning he can represent both Italy and Côte d’Ivoire, with the 24-year-old prioritizing the Azzurri.
Gennaro Gattuso is hoping to guide his side to the 2026 World Cup through the playoff stages after failing to progress via the qualification phase and Bright is unlikely to feature next year.
A host of Italian players are considering their club careers ahead of the tournament, as Giacomo Raspadori looks to save his World Cup hopes with a move in January.
Consistently missing out on an Azzurri call-up could see the Inter Miami star divert his focus to the Ivory Coast national team, but Bright would still need to secure a move to Europe to increase his chances.
Moving away from Inter Miami will not be a simple task for Bright after signing an extended deal in October 2025, which runs until June 2028.
