Juventus are reportedly in talks over a contract extension for young midfielder Nicoli Fagioli. The 21-year-old featured for the club during their pre-season tour of the US and was considered one of the star performers for the Bianconeri.
Fagioli featured in all three games for the Bianconeri last week and was named Serie B young player of the season during his loan stint at Cremonese during the previous campaign.
Italian journalist Nicolo Schira writes that Juve management and Fagioli’s agent have begun talks over a new contract which would take him through to 2026. The player is also reportedly pushing to be a part of the clubs plans for the coming season, rather than being sent out on loan again.
The new deal is still in the works with more talks expected in the coming weeks while Juve are proposing a sizable increase in the players salary.
With Weston McKennie set to miss a month though injury and Paul Pogba potentially out until next year, there’s a realistic chance that the youngster gets his opportunity to feature for Juve in the 2022-23 campaign.
