OFFICIAL: Atalanta sign Merih Demiral

Atalanta have officially exercised their option to sign Turkish defender Merih Demiral from Juventus on a permanent deal. The centre-back spent the 2021-22 season on loan in Bergamo and while there were some brief doubts about his future, Atalanta have now confirmed his signing via a statement on the clubs official website:

Atalanta B.C. announces that it has exercised the option right for the acquisition of the player Merih Demiral from Juventus. The Turkish national defender signs  definitively for the Nerazzurri.”

The 24-year-old played 42 games in all competitions for La Dea scoring two goals, including one against Manchester United in the Champions League.
