Juventus have officially confirmed that rising star Kenan Yildiz has renewed his contract with the club until June 2029, cementing his position at the heart of the Bianconeri’s project. In addition to the contract extension, Yildiz will now don the prestigious number 10 jersey.
Born in Germany to a Turkish father and German mother, Yildiz chose to represent Turkey internationally. At just 19 years old, he has already amassed 12 appearances and one goal for the Turkish national team, including participation in last June’s European Championships.
Yildiz’s journey to Juventus began after a decade in Bayern Munich’s youth system, where he had been since the age of seven. The Italian giants recognized his potential and brought him to Turin in 2022, initially placing him in their Primavera (youth) squad. His impact was immediate, scoring 15 goals in 37 appearances for the Under-19 team before quickly progressing to the Juventus Next Gen side, where he made his professional debut on December 17, 2022.
The 2023-2024 season marked Yildiz’s breakthrough into the first team. He made his Serie A debut against Udinese on August 20, 2023, and soon after scored a spectacular goal in an away match against Frosinone. His performances have steadily earned him a more central role in both Juventus’ present and future plans.
This contract extension and the awarding of the iconic number 10 shirt, previously worn by club legends, signify Juventus’ faith in Yildiz’s potential. It marks the beginning of what the club hopes will be a long and successful journey together.
Juventus concluded their announcement with a congratulatory message: “A wonderful piece of news: congratulations, Kenan!”
