Inter have confirmed that centre-back Milan Skriniar and full-back Danilo D’Ambrosio have left the club today. Both players’ contracts with the club end as of today, and the Nerazzurri have paid tribute to the pair via statements on the clubs official website:
D’ambrosio
284 appearances in the Nerazzurri shirt and almost ten years full of heart, discipline and commitment to the Inter cause. Danilo D’Ambrosio arrived in Milano in January 2014, made his debut on 2 February of the same year against Juventus and scored his first goal on 20 August against Stjarnan.
Consistency, determination, versatility and experience have made him a key figure over the past decade, during which he’s gained a special place in the fans’ hearts thanks to some big performances, incredible interventions – the ones in the derby and the clearance against Empoli in 2019 are particularly memorable – and a constant contribution to the team’s goalscoring efforts. Indeed, the Italian netted at least two a season from 2015/16 to 2020/21 and is finishing his Nerazzurri career with a tally of 21 goals and 20 assists.
It’s been a long journey and there have been some fantastic moments, with the defender having won five trophies: the Scudetto, the Coppa Italia twice and the Supercoppa Italiana on two occasions.
Thank you from everyone in the Inter family, Danilo.
Skriniar
Six seasons full of victories and accomplishments: here ends Milan Skriniar‘s adventure in the Inter shirt. Having joined the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2017, Skriniar has been one of the key compotents of Inter’s extraordinary journey, which began with a return to the Champions League in 2018 and was crowned with the conquest of five trophies over the last three seasons.
One Scudetto, two Coppa Italia wins and two Supercoppa Italiana titles: these are the trophies won by Skriniar in the Nerazzurri shirt, for whom he collected a total of 246 appearances while scoring 11 goals over his six seasons.
The whole Inter family send their best wishes to Skriniar.
