Monza have made a strategic move in the transfer market by signing goalkeeper Semuel Pizzignacco from Feralpisalò. The young talent, born in 2001, is expected to play a significant role in the club’s ambitions for the upcoming season.
Pizzignacco’s arrival comes as Monza seeks to strengthen its squad following the departure of previous goalkeeper Di Gregorio to Juventus. The club has finalized a deal that includes a loan arrangement with an option to buy, allowing them to assess Pizzignacco’s performance before committing to a permanent transfer.
Last season, Pizzignacco showcased his potential in Serie B, despite Feralpisalò facing relegation. His performances caught the attention of Monza’s management, who are keen on developing a solid foundation for their goalkeeping department. Pizzignacco is expected to serve as a reliable backup initially, providing depth to the squad as Monza prepares for the challenges ahead.
A statement on the clubs official website confirmed the news:
“Semuel Pizzignacco is a new player of Monza.
The transfer of the goalkeeper from Friuli is on a temporary basis until June 30, 2025, with an obligation to redeem upon the occurrence of certain conditions.
Born in Monfalcone on September 1, 2001, in 2017 he moved to Udinese, with whom he played for one season in the Primavera team, also collecting some call-ups with the First Team.
In summer 2018 he moved to LR Vicenza where he signed his first professional contract in June 2020, when the biancorossi were promoted to Serie B.
He makes his professional debut with Legnago Salus, where he plays on loan in 2020-21, collecting 37 appearances in the Serie C championship.
An excellent season led LR Vicenza to bring him back to the biancorosso, where he made his Serie B debut on August 21, 2021 in the away match against Cittadella, then playing two more matches as a starter in the league.
After a spell at Renate, he began his adventure at Feralpisalò in the summer of 2022 and was immediately a major player in the club’s historic first Serie B promotion.
In the 2023-24 season he plays all 38 matches in the Serie B championship as a starter, confirming all his qualities.
A young and very talented goalkeeper, who is now ready for his first exciting experience in Serie A with the Monza jersey.”
