Torino have officially announced the signingvof Cristiano Biraghi from Fiorentina on a temporary basis with an option for a permanent transfer. The experienced defender joins the Granata to bolster their defensive options for the remainder of the 2024/2025 season.
Born on September 1, 1992, in Cernusco sul Naviglio, Biraghi’s football journey began in the youth academies of Atalanta and Inter Milan. He made his professional debut for Inter in a Champions League match against Twente on November 24, 2010. Since then, Biraghi has enjoyed a diverse career, playing for clubs such as Juve Stabia, Cittadella, Catania, Chievo, and Granada in Spain’s top flight.
Biraghi’s Serie A debut came with Catania on September 15, 2013. He later joined Pescara in 2016, contributing significantly with 37 appearances, one goal, and four assists during their Serie A campaign. However, it was at Fiorentina where Biraghi truly established himself, becoming the team’s captain and a key player over six and a half seasons. During his time with the Viola, he amassed an impressive 266 appearances across all competitions, scoring 15 goals and providing 41 assists.
The 32-year-old left-back also boasts international experience, having represented Italy 16 times, scoring once and assisting four goals for the Azzurri.
