Multiple reports from Italy suggest Napoli are very close to agreeing a contract extension with star striker Victor Osimhen. The 24-year-old scored 31 goals in 39 games for the Partenopei on the way to securing the 2022-23 Scudetto, prompting interest from the likes of Manchester United, PSG and Bayern Munich.
Despite reports suggesting he could make a big-money move in the summer transfer window, everything now points to at least one more season in Naples.
Sky Sport Italia report that the last meeting between Osimhen’s agent and Napoli will be to finalise and formalise his contract extension: The Nigeria international is expected to pen a new deal that will see him earn €6 million per season, plus various performance related bonuses.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis had pushed for a release clause in the new contract that would be set at around €200 million, but the latest reports suggest it will be closer to €140-150 million.
