Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba is set to undergo meniscus surgery after all, despite initially opting for a more conservative treatment. The French international had originally hoped to take a less invasive approach but reports suggest this hasn’t worked in the short term.
Sky Sport Italia, Gazzetta and Sportmediaset all report that Pogba returned to the pitch today to take part in a training session but the results were unfavorable.
As such, he will now opt for meniscus surgery after all, a procedure that is expected to keep him out of action for between 40-60 days with an official statement expected later today.
Pogba missed the opening of the season due to the injury and was hoping to take a less drastic solution in the hopes of making the French national team for the World Cup in Qatar later this year.
