Pogba and Chiesa return to training

Paul Pogba and Federico Chiesa took part in Juve’s training session today and are edging ever closer to a return to action. Chiesa has been a long-term absentee, missing almost a year of action through an ACL injury, but he returned to light training in recent weeks and now looks set for his first call up.

Sky Sport Italia and others report that the 24-year-old winger is expected to be called up for the Bianconeri’s match against Empoli this Friday, and while he may not feature, his ‘symbolic’ inclusion in the squad would be seen as a step closer to his full recovery. Juve coach Max Allegri is expected to meet with Chiesa later in the week to decide if he will be included or if a friendly match in the youth team is required first.

Pogba also returned to the team training today, taking part in a portion of the session ahead of his prospective return at the end of the month. Various reports in Italian press state his goal is to be part of the squad that faces PSG at the start of November.
