Paul Pogba says his thought process is to “show Manchester that they made a mistake in waiting to give me a contract”. The Frenchman made the comments in a new documentary showcasing his time at United, leading up to his eventual departure from the club.
Pogba is closely linked with a return to Juventus in the coming weeks, with the latest reports suggesting his move is all but complete with the official announcement coming in July.
In a clip obtained by The Athletic, Pogba talks with his agent Mino Raiola about a potential contract renewal where Raiola tells him:
With the France team, you’re the real Pogba, the Pogba of Juventus, the Pogba that everyone loves. With Manchester, there’s something blocking you.”
In one of the shows penultimate scenes, Pogba says:
My thought process is to show Manchester that they made a mistake in waiting to give me a contract,” Pogba says. “And to show other clubs that Manchester had made a mistake in not offering me a contract.”
At another point in the documentary, the Frenchman makes reference to his first period in Turin and how he had to prove himself at Juventus:
You’re not a star just because you say so. You become a star because people make you a star. That’s what I learned from my time at Juventus.”
