Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba may not return to action this year after sustaining another injury, putting his call-up for the World Cup in Qatar at risk. The Frenchman has been out since the summer after he tore his meniscus in his right knee and chose not to undergo surgery.

The decision to undergo conservative therapy was eventually overturned, and he underwent surgery later in the season, putting his expected return date as November.

Juve coach Max Allegri confirmed last week that “Pogba and Chiesa will not be there against PSG, and are 99% unlikely to be called up for Inter either. They could be there at most against Verona or Lazio, but it is very difficult.”

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Pogba has now been forced out of action once again due to a new thigh injury, which has been diagnosed as muscle fatigue.

More news is expected in the coming days but he is expected to miss at least ten days, but if it’s more serious, it will have to be reevaluated.

His likelihood of being called up to the World Cup squad is becoming more and more of an obstacle, especially as he is unlikely to have played any competitive football at all this season.

Gazzetta report that Pogba had recently returned to training with the group, and the first few days had passed by without any particular problems. He then he began to feel a pain in his thigh that became more and more insistent as time went on; he talked it over with the doctors and decided to suspend training to try to understand the origin of the pain and to make it go away.

The HCL staff hope that it is just a muscle overload, due to the increased intensity after a long stop on the sidelines.
