London-based Championship club Queens Park Rangers are on the verge of securing a deal for Juventus defender Gianluca Frabotta. The transfer is expected to be a permanent move, with both clubs and the player having reached an agreement.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Frabotta’s representatives are currently in London, finalizing the details of a three-year contract for the 24-year-old Italian left-back. The move would mark Frabotta’s first experience in a foreign league after spending his entire career in Italy.
The transfer is now pending only one final step: QPR needs to offload Kenneth Paal, their current left-back whose contract expires in 2025. Once Paal’s departure is confirmed, QPR will be ready to complete Frabotta’s acquisition.
Frabotta, born in 1999, made his Serie A debut with Juventus in the 2020-2021 season under Andrea Pirlo’s management. Since then, he has gained experience through a series of loan spells at various Italian clubs, including Hellas Verona, Frosinone, Bari, and most recently, Cosenza.
This move to QPR represents a significant opportunity for Frabotta to showcase his talents in the competitive environment of English football’s second tier. For QPR, the signing of the young Italian defender could provide a boost to their defensive options as they aim to improve their standing in the Championship.
