Milan winger Rafael Leao is keen to remain at Milan and sign a new contract, despite ongoing interest from Premier League side Chelsea. The 23-year-old was the subject of sustained interest from the Blues during the summer and while no official offer was made, the club were reportedly very keen to make a big money move for him.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Portuguese international has no desire to leave Milan at present and is especially keen to sign a new sign a new contract with Rossoneri which would see him increase his €2m a season salary.
The player is reportedly asking for close to €7m net per season, with Milan prepared to go as high as €6m, leading to a stalemate for the moment.
Leao is also pushing to sign a new agreement in order to draw a line under the compensation due to Sporting Lisbon for the termination of his contract when he left to join Ligue 1 side Lille. The player is reportedly expecting Milan to pay the outstanding amount in order to resolve the situation so he can move on with his clear in Italy.
