Roma 0-1 Lazio: Player Ratings

Lazio were missing key players but still mustered a vital win through a Roma error to win the Derby della Capitale by a slender 1-0 margin.

Roma

Patricio: Generally solid but he could do nothing on the opening goal. Made a great stop to deny Anderson in the second half  6.0/10

Mancini: Stupid early tackle on Zaccagni to earn the first booking of the game. 5.5/10

Smalling:  Generally good in the opening stages but made one dreadful pass leaving Patricio exposed, solid thereafter. 6.0/10

Ibanez: DREADFUL on the opening goal, choosing to play out and expecting too much time on the ball. Woeful decision making. 4.5/10

Karsdop: Decent without doing anything of value. 5.5/10

Camara: Very lively in the early stages, moving the ball forward with smart positioning. 5.5/10

Cristante: Quiet and understated, as always.  6.0/10

Zalewski: A constant presence down the flank, whipping in some smart passes.  5.5/10

Pellegrini: Off target with his early set-piece delivery and Roma were too dependent on him to pull the strings. Subbed off early in the second half. 5.5/10

Zaniolo: Early chance on the half turn, dragged just wide – Better on his second effort which was off the post. Good opportunity in the second half that wasn’t capitalised on. 5.5/10

Abraham: Looked low on confidence, dropping deeper to pick up the ball, but his final ball was lacking in the opening half. 5.5/10

Substitutions:

Volpato: Had some nice moments but lacked decisiveness in the final third. 5.0/10

Celik5.5/10

El Shaarawy: His most telling contribution was a tumble in the Lazio box.  5.0/10

Lazio

Provodel: Nothing to do in the opening stages bar a Zaniolo effort that struck the woodwork. More to do in the second half and well off his line. 6.0/10

Lazzari: Good early work at the back but took some risks in both halves of the pitch and rightly booked. 6.0/10

Casale:  Pretty solid in the opening half, looked confident in the tackle and in his positioning. 6.0/10

Romagnoli: Good at bringing the ball out from the back and stepped out from defence at the right moments. An excellent performance. 6.5/10

Marusic: Helped the back line keep its shape in the first ’45. 6.0/10

Vecino: Strong tackling display in the opening half but he picked up an obvious booking early in the second ’45. Decent, nonetheless. 6.0/10

Cataldi: Clever work, good on the ball, vital to keeping the midfield tempo for Lazio. 6.5/10

Alberto: Playing a little deeper and had a few nice moments but made some risky tackles at times  6.0/10

Pedro: Played a smart through ball for Zaccagni and played a key part in the opening goal, pressuring Ibanez  6.0/10

Anderson: Took the opening goal really well, being in the right spot at the right time. Could have seen out the result with a good effort that was saved by Rui Patricio 6.5/10

Zaccagni: Proved a real live wire in the opening stages, should have done better with a half chance when in the box. 6.0/10

Substitutions:

Cancellieri: Made a superb run into the Roma box and set up Anderson. 5.5/10

Hysaj5.5/10
