Roma cold on Leonardo Bonucci idea

Italian media report that Roma have reportedly withdrawn their interest in signing Union Berlin centre-back Leonardo Bonucci. The veteran defender was linked with a switch to the Giallorossi after failing to secure a place in the Union starting XI, making just a handful of appearances since September.

Corriere dello Sport report that Roma are no longer interested in signing the former Juventus man, who was keen on a return to Serie A.

The newspaper outlines that Roma are looking for a younger profile, while Bonucci’s salary may also have been a sticking point for the clubs owners.

According Il Corriere, Giallorossi president Dan Friedkin personally decided against the potential singing of the 37-year-old defender.
