Roma have set their sights on Leicester City midfielder Boubakary Soumaré as a key target to bolster their midfield. The Italian club’s sporting director, Florent Ghisolfi, is reportedly keen to finalize the deal swiftly, viewing Soumaré as an ideal fit for manager Daniele De Rossi’s tactical plans.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Romapress) report that Soumaré, coming off an impressive loan spell at Sevilla, is expected to depart Leicester City permanently. The 24-year-old French midfielder has apparently expressed a strong preference for Roma, reportedly turning down interest from Ligue 1 clubs Monaco and Lyon.
Negotiations between Roma and Leicester City are currently underway, though some distance remains between the two clubs’ valuations. Leicester is said to be seeking around €15 million for Soumaré, while also being open to considering another loan arrangement.
This potential transfer aligns with Roma’s strategy to strengthen their midfield options under De Rossi’s leadership. Soumaré’s characteristics are believed to complement the team’s needs, making him a priority target for the Giallorossi.
