Roma reach agreement for Zeki Çelik

Roma have agreed terms with Lille for the transfer of Turkish fullback Zeki Çelik after weeks of negotiations. The 25-year-old has reportedly been keen on the switch for some time, however the Giallorossi had been deadlocked in talks with Lille.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, the Ligue 1 side have now accepted Roma’s second offer which is thought to be around €7 million plus 15% of any future resale value.

The Giallorossi are now in the process of scheduling the player’s medical and contract signing date in the coming days as they want Çelik available for coach Jose Mourinho as soon as possible.

It’s thought that Çelik was wanted by Mourinho who called the player himself to help convince to make the switch to Rome.
