Sarri: ‘Milinkovic-Savic won’t remain in Italy’

Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri has revealed that if Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is to leave the club, he will not remain in Italy. The Biancocelesti boss was speaking after the club secured Europa League qualification for next season following their 2-2 draw with Juventus last night.

Milinkovic-Savic has been closely linked with a move to Juventus, a transfer that’s seen as difficult due to Club President Claudio Lotito who doesn’t wish to sell the player to the Bianconeri.

“Speaking to the President, I have become convinced that if Milinkovic does leave, and that will not happen easily, he will not remain in Italy,” Sarri said during his press-conference.

Milinkovic-Savic also spoke about his future to Sky Sport Italia after today’s 2-2 draw with Juventus.

“I improved under Sarri, I scored 11 goals and provided 11 assists, so I can say this has been the best season of my career. Next season, we need a few more players so we can aim for the Champions League places.”
