Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri says therre are no questions marks over Ciro Immobile, insisting that his team is stronger than last year. The Biancocelesti came away with a late 1-0 win over Fiorentina after they were awarded a penalty in the last minute of stoppage time. Speaking with DAZN, Sarri talked about a ‘tough’ match that was predictable, and why he has no doubts over Immobile’s value to the team:
“Tough and difficult match as it was easily predictable. I think the result was legitimized by a second half in which we did not concede anything and found the goal.”
“We are waiting for Ciro. It is clear that having a guy like Castellanos who is doing well, it is right to reward him. But Immobile is not in question. He has to train, he seemed to me to be growing a bit. I just hope he is lucky enough to be able to do it continuously.”
“The new players are fitting in quite well, the problem is when we put them in there was a drop of those who were there last year. The team seems to be improving. I think football, with this fixture list, is going in the direction of making a lot of changes in one match. At the squad level we are stronger than last year, now we have to prove it in the 11.”
