In a pulsating Serie A encounter, Atalanta overcame Fiorentina 3-2 at the newly renovated Gewiss Stadium, with Ademola Lookman starring in a remarkable comeback victory.

The match marked Atalanta’s first home game of the season following the completion of stadium renovations. Despite ongoing injury concerns, including the absences of Rafael Toloi and Gianluca Scamacca, Atalanta welcomed back key players like Sead Kolasinac and Nicolò Zaniolo.

Fiorentina struck first through Lucas Martinez Quarta, who capitalized on a rebound from Robin Gosens’ header. However, Atalanta quickly equalized thanks to Lookman’s brilliant play, setting up Mateo Retegui for a headed goal.

The visitors regained the lead when Moise Kean headed home Mandragora’s cross, but Atalanta’s resilience shone through. Charles De Ketelaere leveled the score with a header from a set-piece, before Lookman completed the turnaround with a well-placed shot just a minute later.

The second half saw Atalanta create numerous chances to extend their lead, with Lookman, Retegui, and De Ketelaere all coming close. David De Gea, making his Serie A debut for Fiorentina, made several crucial saves to keep his team in the game.
