Sky Sport Italia: Genoa reportedly undecided on David De Gea

Start

Genoa are in search of a new goalkeeper for the upcoming season, following the departure of Josep Martínez to Inter Milan earlier this month. Among the potential candidates is David de Gea, the Spanish goalkeeper who has been a free agent since last summer after his contract with Manchester United expired.

Sky Sport Italia transfer specialist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that De Gea, who will turn 34 in November, has expressed interest in Genoa’s project. However, the Ligurian club has not yet made a final decision on whether to pursue the Spanish keeper. While De Gea remains a possibility, Genoa is still considering other options for their goalkeeping position.

The experienced goalkeeper, who has played for Atlético Madrid and Manchester United, would undoubtedly bring significant reinforcement to Alberto Gilardino’s squad. De Gea’s extensive experience at the highest level of football could prove valuable for Genoa as they look to strengthen their team.

In his last active season, De Gea made 58 appearances for Manchester United, conceding 61 goals but also keeping an impressive 25 clean sheets. This record demonstrates his ability to perform at a high level, which could be attractive to Genoa.
