SportItalia: Di Lorenzo told Conte, ‘I want to move to Juventus’

Start

SportItalia claim that Napoli defender Giovanni Di Lorenzo has told Antonio Conte that he wants to move to Juventus this summer. The 30-year-old right-back has reportedly fallen out with the clubs management, with his agent having confirmed that his client is looking to leave Naples in the transfer window.

Mario Giuffredi went so far as to say that Antonio Conte’s arrival at Napoli would not have an impact:

“The tactical or technical aspects, or even who the coach is, are irrelevant. Decisions are made based on numerous dynamics outside of football. I’m happy Conte is joining Napoli, as he’s the right medicine for the team, and it’s an honor for players to be coached by him. However, Conte’s arrival doesn’t affect Di Lorenzo’s decision, which was formed over the season and reached its conclusion.”

SportItalia journalist Michele Criscitiello now reports of a discussion that took place between Di Lorenzo and Conte, saying:

“On Friday, Conte called Di Lorenzo: “You have to stay. I’m starting over with you. They’ll have to go over my dead body to sell you.” The captain thanked the coach but reiterated his position: “My cycle here is over. I want to go to Juve, and I’ve already informed the club.”
