Sportmediaset: Roma considering De Rossi as Mourinho replacement

Start

Sportmediaset claim that Roma owners the Friedkins are unhappy with the clubs recent results and are considering replacing Jose Mourinho. The Giallorossi suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Milan on Sunday evening, their third loss in five league games, seeing them well out of contention for a top four finish.

Mourinho was sitting out a one-game touchline ban, following his red card on the sidelines in Roma’s 1-0 Coppa Italia defeat to Lazio midweek.

Sportmediaset and Rome-based La Repubblica report that the Special One’s pour disciplinary record and frequent outbursts have angered the clubs ownership and they are giving serious consideration to sacking him.

The Portuguese tactician has also lost the support of part of the clubs fanbase, who were critical of the loss to the Rossoneri.

The suggestion is that De Rossi could be handed the role of managing the team until the end of the season, despite having managed just 17 games at SPAL before being first last season.
