Motta expressed confidence in the team’s readiness, stating, “The team is doing very well, with good preparation for the match. We’ve had a good week of work.” He emphasized the importance of staying grounded, noting that they are only in the second match of the season.
The coach revealed that captain Danilo suffered a knock in training and did not participate in the session. Motta said, “We have the last day of work before the match. This afternoon we’ll see how he’s doing.”
Regarding new signing Pierre Kalulu, Motta was positive: “Physically, I found him in very good shape. He has integrated very well. He can play as a center-back or full-back, and I see him doing very well.”
Motta mentioned that Milik is still recovering and not with the group. He also praised young player Mbangula for his versatility and potential.
The coach stressed the importance of balance between phases of play, particularly highlighting the significance of the wingers. He stated, “We must be very attentive, concentrated on playing the game we want to play. We must attack this team, go into their penalty area, have the desire to make an impact, and defend our area as we know how.”
Motta showed respect for their opponents, saying, “I see Hellas Verona as a team accustomed to playing certain matches. They always put their opponents in difficulty.” He acknowledged Verona’s recent victory against a strong team and their ability to attack and counter-attack effectively.
When asked about his experience as Juventus coach, Motta expressed enthusiasm: “My life? I can tell you it’s beautiful. I wake up early with enthusiasm to come here. I find myself with fantastic people who have this enthusiasm and transmit it to me. I find myself with guys with an enormous desire to improve, to compete in training.”
