Thiago Motta: ‘We’ve prepared well for Genoa, we don’t like losing’

Start

Bologna coach Thiago Motta says his team is well prepared for the visit of Genoa: “We start from the principle that nobody likes to lose.” The Rossoblu slumped to a surprising 3-0 defeat in Udine, and are hoping to get their aspirations for European football back on track when they host Genoa this evening. Speaking ahead of the match, Motta addressed the defeat to Udinese, the form of Joshua Zirzkee, and what he expects from his players:

“What are the differences between Genoa and Udinese? Genoa can change, even in Sassuolo they played with four. They give few references, the  midfield plus Gudmundsson give a lot of mobility. We are careful not to give them freedom.

“At Genoa I had fantastic moments, both as a coach and as a player, different moments. Fantastic experiences. Always good, from the moment I arrived, I will always have to thank the public for what they have given me, as I have always given everything”.

“Ttansfer market? These are not questions for me, you have to ask the management”.

“Was Zirkzee was nervous in Udine? No, nothing. He is a good guy who wants to win, he is still young, he knows where to put his energy to help himself and the group’.

“Changes against Genoa? We start from the principle that nobody likes to lose, we have made a good preparation to face the next match with Genoa”.

“Lessons after Udine? We don’t like losing, we prepare for the next game. Head to Genoa.”
